:3a. (This is a continuation of the preceding problem.)  My
neighbor now tells me that he has used the scale he lent me to
weigh cats dozens of times, and that the SD of the weights he
obtained is 1 pound.  Maybe this new information should be used
to recompute the confidence interval.  Maybe not.  Whatever you
decide, a correct confidence interval for the weight of my cat is
